Say Yes to New Adventures Art Journal Page

Hi there Snip Art lovers, Farrel here to share my latest art journal page. I was recently teaching on a crafting cruise and got inspiration whilst on the cruise to create an art journal page using the theme of travel.

I started with a kraft base and used some music sheets, patterned cardstock from a catalogue and using a spatula applied some Stamperia Crackle Paste.

Once the paste dried I then stamped the background using Darkroom Door World Map stamp and Gazette texture stamp. I splattered some acrylic paint and used Seth Apter's Izink Dye Spray - Marron. I also used Tim Holtz Design Tape - Journey.

I painted the Up in the air - ornaments with feathers using PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paint in Mermaid. I heat embossed Balloon with cogs chipboard using Stampendous Embossing Enamel - Aged Ivory. Next I painted the Vintage Boutique - Large Napkin using Stamperia Cappuccino Acrylic paint and then highlighted using Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Squirts - Maple Syrup Bronze.

I inked both Up in the air - Ormanenty - Diamonds and Mandala's Dream Border #1 with black archival Ink. I adhered all the pieces to my page and finished the page by splattering some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Squirts - Maple Syrup Bronze and added my title using a Tim Holtz Small Chat Sticker.

Kartka z motylami / A card with butterflies

cieszę się, że mogę projektować dla Was przez kolejny rok. Dziś przychodzę do Was z kartką, na której przysiadły motyle. Jak zwykle wybrałem swój ulubiony format kartki DL.

Hello everybody,

I am glad that I can design for you for the next year. Today I come to you with a card on which butterflies sat down. As usual, I chose my favorite DL card format.

Postanowiłem zrobić nieco warstw papieru poprzetykanych starym papierem i tekturkami. Bardzo lubię naturalną barwę tekturek, więc rzadko dodaję im koloru.

I decided to make some layers of paper interwoven with old paper and chipboards. I really like the natural color of chipboards, so I rarely add color to them.

Kompozycja na kartce powstała z białych kwiatów, do których dołożyłem listki, w których się ostatnio zakochałem. Stanowią one świetne uzupełnienie kwiatowych kompozycji i nadają im charakteru.

Sama kompozycja umiejscowiona została na pięknej ażurowej rozetce.

The composition on the card was made of white flowers, to which I added leaves, in which I recently fell in love. They are a great complement to floral compositions and give them character. 

The composition itself was placed on a beautiful openwork rosette.

Napis pokryłem czarnym tuszem SPLASH! by był dobrze widoczny. Dodałem dwa motylki i kilka perełek w płynie.

I covered the inscription with  black SPLASH! ink to be clearly visible. I added two butterflies and a few liquid pearls.

Album dla Alicji

Cześć,

dziś będzie post z dużą ilością zdjęć, ponieważ przyszło mi stworzyć coś nieco większego niż kartka. Po raz drugi w życiu zrobiłem album, który powstał na gotowych bazach albumowych spiętych kółeczkami. Album trafił jako prezent do dziewczynki lubiącej niebieski, fioletowy i... motylki.

today will be a post with lots of photos, because I had to create something a little bit bigger than a card. For the second time in my life I made an album that was made on ready album bases joined together with metal circles. The album came as a gift to a girl who likes blue, purple and ... butterflies.

Okładkę zrobiłem dość prostą i płaską, by nie było problemu z przechowywaniem. Do jej ozdobienia użyłem dwóch tekturek - motyla i warstwową ramkę. Imię dziewczynki po wydrukowaniu pokryłem delikatnie glossy accent, które nakładałem patyczkiem. Dało to efekt lekkiej wypukłości.

Metalowe kółka spinające album ukryłem pod mnóstwem koronek i wstążek.

I made the cover quite simple and flat so that there would be no problem with storage. To decorate it I used two chipboards - a butterfly and a layered frame. After printing, the girl's name was slightly covered with glossy accent, which I applied with a stick. This gave the effect of light raised.

I hid the metal rings connecting pages the album under a lot of lace and ribbons.

Pierwsze strony to kieszonki, w które wsunąłem tagi oraz większy kawałek kartoników oklejonych dwustronnie i ozdobionych motylkami.

The first pages are with the pockets in which I put the tags and a larger piece of cardboard covered with two-sided and decorated with butterflies.

Kolejne strony są dość proste, a na jednej z nich umieściłem dodatkowe miejsca na zdjęcia.

The next pages are quite simple, and on one of them I put additional space for photos.

Ponownie stworzyłem kieszonkę na tagi oraz trzy podstrony, na których można coś dodać. Strona z kieszonką otwiera się na prawo, co widać na zdjęciu poniżej.

Again, I created a pocket for tags and three subpages where you can add something. The side with the pocket opens to the right, as seen in the photo below.

Tym razem tylko jedna dodatkowa strona na zdjęcie. Po lewej stronie zrobiłem prostą kartę zdobioną napisem oraz skrzydłem motyla.

This time I added only one additional page for photo. On the left I made a simple card decorated with an inscription and a butterfly wing.

Na pozostałych stronach powtórzyłem kilka dodatków i kieszonek. Tylna okładka prezentuje się podobnie do przedniej, ale bez dodatkowych ozdobników.

On the other pages I repeated a few additions and pockets. The back cover looks similar to the front cover, but without additional decorations.
